Mesalazine Impurity 05 - Introduction
Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-(Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C13H10N2O, containing a benzene ring and an azobenzene group in its structure.
Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-is a phenolic compound with an azobenzene group. It is an organic colorant commonly used in the synthesis of dyes and pigments. Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-is oil-soluble and can be used for dyeing textiles, cosmetics and plastic products.
Preparation of Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-usually by mixing aniline with excess nitric acid to produce nitroaniline. Then, Nitroaniline is reduced to aniline, and azotization reaction with phenylimine is carried out under basic conditions, finally obtaining Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-.
The safety of Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-is not clear enough, but aniline and its derivatives are considered to be toxic to humans. Aniline has been shown to be a carcinogen and may cause irritation to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Therefore, when using or handling Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-, appropriate protective measures should be taken, such as wearing protective gloves, safety glasses and protective clothing, make sure to operate in a well-ventilated environment. In addition, Phenol, 2-(2-phenyldiazenyl)-should be stored in a dry, cool, ventilated place, away from fire and oxidizing agents.
